Parga Holiday Review

If you are looking for paradise on the Greek mainland then a Parga holiday could be just the thing for you. Think stunning scenery, breathtaking views, blue skies, golden beaches and crystal clear seas and you start to get an idea of the kind of place that you will be visiting.

Parga Holiday Review

Having just recently come back from a Parga holiday, I have the vivid memories etched at the forefront of my mind and can still smell the orange blossom that seemed to gently scent the air wherever you walked, just beautiful.

Of course everyone is looking for something different from a holiday destination and if you want high-rise buildings, noisy clubs and fast food joints then Parga would not really appeal.

But, on the other hand if you want to enjoy a more sedate couple of weeks in a relaxed atmosphere drinking in some traditional Greek culture, history and a smattering of mythology thrown in for good measure then Parga comes high recommended.

It can be difficult to capture your experiences in words on a page and trying to get across how magical the sights, sounds and smells were at the time. But, with so much to see, do and enjoy, Parga really is a well-kept secret and it is no small wonder that people go back time and again such is its charm.

There was so much that made the stay so pleasurable aside from the fantastic Greek dishes such as mousaka, kleftico, souvlaki and fresh Greek salads which were all delicious and the local people who welcome with a friendly smile and a wave whilst sweeping and cleaning their homes or tending their gardens.

Can you even begin to imagine the sight that greeted me one evening walking back to the hotel when, turning a corner I saw a magical sight of fire flies giving the most amazing display that nature could ever put on. I stood mesmerized by this mass of moving, twinkling lights and could not quite believe what I was seeing.

So having spent a day walking amongst small back streets browsing gift shops, watching small fishing boats sailing slowly in and out of the harbor, drinking in some of the most spectacular scenery and views from the battlements of the 14th century Venetian castle and enjoying the beautiful sunshine my day was completed in a way that I never could have imagined.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this beautiful hidden gem of a place and a Parga holiday is one of my top tips for a break that will surprise you in some unexpected ways.
